About:

The city of Birmingham is undergoing a dance culture rebirth. This renaissance is being demonstrated in more and more clubs across the city, and has spread out locally, even to the suburbs, with the birth of an ultra lounge outside of the city.
Now, calm yourself, the buzzing that is going around the city and abroad is very real. But, in order to understand it completely, you must know that in order to have a rebirth, there must first be a birth. This weeks’ featured artist has contributed to not only the birth, but is also undeniably “holding his spot” in the rebirth of the Birmingham dance culture.
Dj Ken Webb has been producing tracks for nine years and has been mixing for 15 years. In 1996, Ken hosted and programmed the only underground radio mixshow the city has ever seen (or heard) while producing the show, “Beethoven’s Underground X-Press”, featured on 106 WRAX FM. Ken is also one of only two dj’s in the history of Birmingham to report to Billboard Magazine as one of the nations Billboard DJ’s.
In 1999, Ken released his first and second 12″ production, namely titled “Victoria’s Secret”. The tracks received play across the country by the heavy-hitters at the time, such as Simply Jeff, Factor-E, and Rick West.
Ken’s constant exposure and dedication has earned him opening duties for such acts as The Crystal Method, Richard Vission, Kaskade, Dizzy, Q-Burns Abstract Message, and Bad Boy Bill, to name a few.
Ken Webb has been organizing events as early as 1994. His events under the company moniker “Boom Shock Society” are held by many as their first experience in what has become this present day awakening.
Presently, Ken is adding productions, hosting events, and just doing what Ken Webb does so well, under the “Urban Fabric” moniker. Some say that the idea and concept of the new Urban Fabric project is just beginning, but most will tell you that it began a decade and a half ago.
This is the soundtrack to the 21st century. This is Urban Fabric.
